Eicma 2013: New, But Does Not Look It - Bylot Motorcycles

The things you see at EICMA. So many motorcycles, so many accessories, so many pretty girls, it's easy to not see some things. Only after having walked past their stand a few times did I notice that the motorcycles on display where new, but not new.

On the Alpina stand there were several vintage motorcycles from an old age, but looking brand new. The brand on the motorcycles is Bylot . Bylot is Italian and they are made in Monza, which forms part of Motorland (the place where so many Italian motorcycle and car manufacturers can be found).

Bylot is the brainchild of Enrico Farina who has a passion for old scrambler bikes. So he started a company to build vintage motorcycles, but with new technology.

The first motorcycle he built is the Six Days Scrambler 175. The bike looks like a vintage scrambler, but inside it is a single cylinder Japanese FDX Daytona 190 4V 4-valve Unicam horizontal cylinder air cooling and oil, derived from pit bike, delivering 20 hp at 6000 rpm.

The bike's frame is made out of tubular chrome molybdenum steel with Alpina wheels (which is why they were on the Alpina stand). The Scrambler weighs around 77 kilos.

A derivative of the Six Days 175 Scrambler is the 80cc Regolarità Competizione 6V. The engine is Derbi 2-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled, with a 6 speed transmission. The bike weighs 73 kilos.

This is the Bylot Fangone Cross with a Daytona 190 FDX engine, 20 hp at 6000 rpm.

The new company will start the production of these motorcycles once they have received 100 orders. I think the price will be around €6000 (I read that somewhere).

So if you are interested in one of these unique motorcycles, head on over to Bylot and talk to the owner.    The article was written by Mike Werner and posted first on news.motorbiker.org
